Process

Screens are coated with a light-sensitive emulsion. Then your artwork is imaged onto a clear film and placed on the coated screen. The screen is then exposed on a light table. After the coated screen is rinsed off, open areas appear where the ink will penetrate.

The shirt is placed on a platen, and the screen is then placed on top of the shirt. A squeegee pulls ink across the screen, pushing the ink onto the shirt fabric. Other screens rotate around the press to print additional colors. Finally, the shirt is removed and run through a dryer to cure the ink.

Because our process carefully applies one color at a time, the cost increases for each color added. In addition, more setup is involved when printing a multiple color job.

With proper care, screen printed images will last the life of the garment. When washing, be sure to turn the garment inside out, and dry on a gentle cycle for maximum durability.
